The first and second quarters of 2011 were extremely busy and the third quarter will be even busier!!
During the first and second quarters we completed two major consulting projects; one for the Philadelphia Parks Department and one for the Mayor's Office of Special Events in Lancaster, PA. We also continue administering a grant on behalf of Temple University's Event Leadership Certificate program which has enabled us to develop and present a training program for Festival and Event leaders from throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This program will conclude in late June.
Ira taught an undergraduate level special events management class at Temple University in the spring semester and also supervised 10 senior class interns as they executed their semester long culminating undergraduate experience. He continues on a consulting project for the University to develop and grow their International Festivals and Events Association (IFEA) Gold Pinnacle award-winning Event Leadership Certificate program. Ira will again be teaching two event management courses in the fall semester and will teach a one credit graduate course at George Washington University in Washington, DC in October.
Ira has traveled extensively throughout the year so far, and has pitched a number of new projects in exotic locations around the world, including the development of training programs in Trinidad and potential production projects in Jamaica. Additionally, he was a featured speaker at the Festivals and Events Ontario Conference in Toronto, and he served on the planning committee for both the Pennsylvania Association of Convention and Visitors Bureau Conference in Harrisburg, PA and the New Jersey Governor’s Tourism Conference in Atlantic City.
June and July will bring our busiest months, when we are responsible for production of events for both Wawa Welcome America and the Gettysburg Festival. EOL has recently been hired to produce the Tenth Anniversary Gala for the Independence Visitor Center in Philadelphia. This project is especially rewarding, as we produced the Center’s Grand Opening in 2001. This major event will take place in November. August and September will also be very busy as we work on developing this project and also work with the IFEA on planning their Fall Conference. We will spend a lot of time in the third quarter continuing to develop many exciting global opportunities
In addition to all of our production and consulting work, Ira continues to serve on the New Jersey Travel Industry Association (NJTIA) Board of Directors, the Executive Committee for the Philadelphia International Flower Show and the Planning Committee for the New Jersey Governor's Tourism Conference.

FOURTH QUARTER - 2010 RECAP AND FIRST/SECOND QUARTER OUTLOOK – 2011
“I wanted to write to you to just reiterate the comments I made at the end of last night’s event. You did a fabulous job. I could not be more pleased. Everything flowed smoothly, you were hands-on, right there whenever we needed you, and all logistics were nearly flawless. Plus, it was a pleasure to work with you. Please feel free to use me as a reference for any similar work you may be seeking, as I’d be glad to sing your praises to anyone!” James J. Cuorato, President & CEO, Independence Visitor Center Corporation |
"Thank you for coordinating a great event last night. We all enjoyed ourselves and it went very well. You all were very responsive to any minor need or want. I got a good report from our Area VP, and I will attribute that to all the hard work that you did." Jessica Dahlquist, Market Manager- Idearc Media Corporation, Philadelphia Division |
